WIP Wednesday (and lots of 'em!)

Holy comment love you guys! I am so joyfully overwhelmed by all the enthusiasm over my Blog-aversary giveaway! Two days to go and over 800 comments and lots of new readers. I am having so much fun reading all your comments! As far as favorite fabrics go, it seems anything Flea Market Fancy (big shock!) and in particular the seedling print is a clear winner. I was fairly sure anything by Heather Ross would be the second most popular, but her Goldfish in Bags print is far and away the most loved. Being a mushroom and gnome lover, that surprised me! Anyways, a big welcome to all of you who are new around here. Now the pressure is on to actually sew something!

So I decided to write out my list yesterday of everything I'm currently working on.......

it's a bit big and scary. I even forgot about a few to add and left off altogether a few I have classified into the "abandonment pile". And of course here I go again -  having zero will power to resist starting yet another project. The new City Weekend line is just too pretty to not cut up.

Here are a couple of other new things I'm working on:

A quilt for my pug-loving best girl friend (inspired by Ashley's gorgeous quilt here),

a quilt made from the new Moda Bliss line (the top is all pieced now and just needs borders),

and my super secret swap piece for the Urban Home Goods Swap.

It's a wonder I'm getting anything done at all around here lately keeping up with Lucia! I'm pretty sure she has more energy than most! She is actually loving her new baby dolls I made her. See how gently she shoves the bottle into the baby's mouth? I have already had to repair one's  embroidery and wipe raspberry goo off another's face (I admit a little cringing occured here) but they are meant to be played with after all!

So how many quilts do you have going right now? I hope to find a little time to wrap a few of these up soon.

See you Friday for the big winner announcement!

  1. 800 comments! You go girl. And to think I can say I knew you when... :)

I have two tops completed and waiting to be quilted, a baby quilt patiently waiting for binding, and a fourth quilt in the design process. Did I mention I have no time for any of this? :)

  2. Seeing your list made me inspired to write a lits. It really helped to get it down on paper :) I have 8 quilts in various stages. Up until about a year ago I only ever had one at a time and then I discovered quilting blogs, quilt-a-longs, and so forth. Got to love being busy :)

  4. I'm loving your urban home swap piece (and I'm hoping it has my name on it!.
I'm embarrased to say the only quilt blocks in my wip pile are a set from one of my bees where I'm still waiting on a couple of blocks (since last october!!). I am quite bossy on myself and actually make myself finish each quilt before starting a new one (I know that is highly weird!).

  5. The dolls are adorable, and their 'mama' is a cutie too!

I have been banging out my wips thankfully. But I still have 2 basted quilts, 5 in various stages of assembly, and 6 piles of fabric waiting their turn. yuck. And Im going to do Old Red Barn Co round 8 and it will cut ahead of most of those wips. :(

  11. I really have to think twice before I take one off the design board and stack it up when I start another - but I did that today. So that makes four in process... Love your new one. Oh I have a Bliss top with no borders yet.

  16. Lucia is adorable & it is so sweet that she plays with the dolls you made! It is always heart warming when our kiddos like what we make. As for projects hummmm well I have too many going on and want to do more.

  17. I have three quilts actually in progress and three more that I need to start and finish before I can work on the three in progress again. Quilt ministry quilts trump personal quilts! But they'll get done sooner or later!

  19. Nice turnout for your giveaway post!!

I'm finishing up my pieces for the Urban Home Goods swap and if I manage to get those knocked out on the early side this weekend, I'm hoping to finish up a couple of quilt tops (one needs borders, the other needs 2 blocks and the final sew-together). I have two baby quilts basted and ready to quilt, it's just been too warm to consider quilting in lately! Just a feeew things on my docket!
